Q. How soon should I order my Bridal Gown?
A. It’s never too early to order your wedding gown. At Celestial Brides, we recommend ordering your bridal gown at least 1 year ahead of time. That gives you the luxury of having your gown in the store and altered to perfection well before your actual wedding date. Another benefit of ordering early is you have a longer period of time to pay on your gown. Keep in mind, bridal gowns take any where from 6 to 9 months to be delivered, depending on the manufacturer.

Q. I've found a gown I love, but I'm having so much fun trying on gowns that I don't want to commit yet. Is it OK to wait to order?
A. Shopping for your wedding gown should be a fun-filled and memorable experience. Unfortunately, it has to come to an end. Once you find a gown you love, you should order it. Designers are constantly discontinuing gowns and nothing is more depressing than going back to a store to order your dream gown only to find that it has been discontinued.

Q. How many people should I bring to help me choose my gown?
A. Although you want to involve your friends in all aspects of planning your wedding, this is the one time that fewer is better. Everyone has their own tastes and their vote will be based on their own preferences, not necessarily what looks good on you. Plan to bring one or two people whose opinion you value. Your mother, your maid of honor, or your sister will usually give you an honest opinion. Keep in mind though, it’s your wedding. Ultimately, the gown should be one of your choosing.

Q. Ok, you've convinced me to order early, but I'm going to lose 20 pounds before my wedding. What if my gown is to big?
A. Just about every bride to be plans on losing some weight before her big day. Some do and some don’t. By purchasing your gown from a reputable, full service bridal salon that employs an experienced bridal seamstress, you don’t need to worry. Your gown will be custom fitted, no matter what shape you’re in.

Q. I've worn a size 8 for the last 10 years. Why do I need to be measured and why is my size different than what I usually wear?
A. Each manufacturer uses their own size guidelines. It’s possible for you to wear a size 10 in one line and a size 12 in another. Remember, the size is just a number that links your measurements to the manufacturers specifications.

Q. I've heard about discounters that will order a gown for me at a greatly reduced price, but I'm a little concerned. Are these offers to good to be true?
A. When shopping for the gown for the most important day in your life, why would you take chances. First of all, you’ll be required to pay for the dress in full at the time you place the order, leaving you no recourse should the dress arrive in the wrong color, wrong size, or wrong style. Of course anyone can make a mistake when ordering a gown for you. However, the chance of an error occurring is magnified when ordering through a discounter. The reason is that most of the top bridal lines (like the ones you see in the magazines) do not sell to discounters, which means that the discounter is getting your gown through some third party. It’s even possible that you will be getting a designer copy, or knock off, NOT AN ORIGINAL. Secondly, the dress will need to be fitted, altered, and professionally steam pressed. Most bridal salons will NOT work on dresses purchased elsewhere. Even if you do find someone to work on your gown, these things cost money often more than you originally saved by ordering from a discounter. At Celestial Brides, the gown of your dreams will be ordered with a 50% deposit, fitted and altered by our professional alterations department, and delivered to your door in our custom delivery van.
